We took a ride up to San Salvador for the day. An interesting ride across the alluvial plain and then into the Mountains. Still warm by our standards but a little cooler at altitude.
Our driver dropped us off at the cathedral and centre of the old town.
The police and military were there in astounding numbers
Government buildings
Statues
Market Streets nearby
Local Lady
from there we went to a market for local artists
This man had us interested, we were not sure if he was selling tape on tape measures and we never saw a sale so were no wiser
From there it was Walmart for groceries and then to the craft brewery ‘Cadejo’
Well guarded
Warning sign: no arms, no drugs and only, ONLY, 4 pints!! What cruel joke is this?
The brewer showed us round the plant, lots of stainless steel. Their red ale was very nice.
After that we headed back, crossing the plain we see an afternoon storm coming
By the time we got back there were trees down, no telephone or internet but Kapowai was safe.
